2026 Salad Bars to Schools Grant Applications Are Open

Hello,

You're receiving this email because you previously signed up to receive updates about the Chef Ann Foundation's Salad Bars to Schools program. We're excited to announce that the 2026 grant applications for Salad Bars to Schools are now open!

Schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program and serve students from kindergarten through twelfth grade are eligible to apply. Grantees will receive salad bar equipment, online training through the Chef Ann Foundation's School Food Institute, technical assistance, and marketing resources to install and successfully implement a salad bar as part of their school meal service.

Learn more about the Salad Bars to Schools program.

Salad bars help students establish healthy eating habits by increasing access to fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and healthy proteins. They can also help schools meet environmental sustainability goals by decreasing packaging waste and supporting local farms by serving fresh local foods on the salad bar. Salad bars are a great entry point for schools wanting to incorporate more scratch cooking.

Applications close on March 31.

Salad Bars to Schools has funded over 6,400 salad bars since 2010. The 2026 grants are made possible through generous funding from our mission-aligned partner, Whole Kids, a pillar of the Whole Foods Market Foundation dedicated to improving children's health and wellness through nutrition.

Hi NFSN Partners,

We are excited to announce the launch of phase two of the Farm to School Coordinators project.  This peer learning and networking opportunity features two components:

🌱 Learning Collaborative (15 Farm to School Coordinators from California, Michigan, Minnesota and New York)

As a member of the Learning Collaborative, you will join a dynamic peer learning community that blends four interactive virtual sessions and two in-person gatherings. Together, you'll strengthen your farm to school coordination strategies, exchange local procurement insights, and tackle shared challenges and successes alongside fellow Coordinators. The Collaborative will generate lessons and resources that NFSN can also share with the broader farm to school community. This specific opportunity is for Coordinators from California, Michigan, Minnesota, and New YorkAPPLY HERE TODAY

🌱 Expanded Farm to School Coordinators Community of Practice

This is an opportunity for Farm to School Coordinators across the country to attend and participate in free quarterly Community of Practice (CoP) calls and engage in a virtual forum (Slack) with peers and NFSN. The CoP calls will include presentations and topics presented by Learning Collaborative members and NFSN and will be an informal space for Coordinators to bring questions and ideas they may have from the field. The first meeting is set to kick off on March 27th at 2:00 - 3:15 pm CST. REGISTER FOR THE KICK OFF CALL.

For questions, please reach out directly to Trisha@farmtoschool.org

If you are a Farm to School Coordinator (or similar role) OR know someone who is, we kindly invite you to pass along this opportunity.

Thank you so much and I look forward to connecting very soon.

Warmly,
Trisha
