Discover how Food Policy Councils drive public health, economic vitality, and community well-being. During this free event, Author Nessa Richman will share practical strategies and actionable, research-based tools for building a more equitable, resilient local food system. This event will also include a discussion, examples from Michigan-based local food policy councils—including the Washtenaw County Food Policy Council and Flint & Genesee County Food Policy Council—and audience engagement designed to spur thinking about what works in our state for resilient, sustainable food systems.
This event is hosted by the MSU Center for Regional Food Systems through the Statewide and Regional Food Systems Plans National Community of Practice (NCoP) and the Michigan Local Food Council Network. This work is supported by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and this event is also sponsored by the MSU Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems program and the Stuckman Chair in Food Economics and Policy.
