223 annotated references on structural racism in the U.S. food system and Zotero library update

Announcing 41 new citations and nine new videos in 6th edition of annotated bibliography on structural racism in the U.S. food system

The MSU Center for Regional Food Systems is pleased to announce An Annotated Bibliography on Structural Racism Present in the U.S. Food System, sixth edition and updates to the companion Zotero library.

The annotated bibliography offers a foundation for learning and communicating about structural racism in the U.S. food system. It includes publications and videos that explore structural racism both across the national system and in specific food system sectors.

The references are also compiled in a Zotero group library to make it easier for users to access and cite the annotated bibliography sources. Zotero is a free citation management software.

This annotated format is useful for food systems practitioners, policymakers, researchers, educators, scholars, and students. References were crowd-sourced – collected via a nationwide request sent through food systems networks.

Explore and share the bibliography with your networks!

For more information, contact Rich Pirog, Center for Regional Food Systems, rspirog@msu.edu.

Sign up to show Michiganders your support for 10 Cents a Meal!

Friends,

Please help us raise awareness about Michigan's 10 Cents a Meal for School Kids & Farms program by signing your name or the name of your organization to a list of supporters.

10 Cents a Meal provides schools with match incentive funds to purchase and serve Michigan-grown fruits, vegetables, and dry beans. Funded by the state Legislature since 2016, 10 Cents is a pilot program that so far has been expanded financially and geographically each year and now is available in more than half of our counties. 10 Cents has been praised nationally as a leading, innovative model. Let Michiganders everywhere know that you support investing in local food for kids in schools as part of Michigan's identity!

Other ways that you can help: Spread the word about 10 Cents and support your schools in obtaining and using funds.

Learn more and sign up here

And please forward this email to others who may be interested!

All best,

Diane

P.S. - if you signed up in support two years ago, please sign again! This will be a new and different list.
