Scholarships Available Through Sept. 6 for Farms, Food & Health Conference with Culinary Medicine Training

Please help us spread the word!

Registration is under way and scholarships are now available for the September 26-29 Farms, Food & Health Conference in Traverse City, Michigan, along with a premier training opportunity in the promising and emerging field of Culinary Medicine.

Apply for scholarships through September 6 on the conference registration page, FarmsFoodHealth.org.

Groundwork Center is partnering with Munson Healthcare and the Great Lakes Culinary Institute for the Culinary Medicine Training, which has up to 17.5 CME credits available for physicians, nurses, and dietitians.

The Culinary Medicine Training track will offer healthcare providers the opportunity to receive immersive continuing medical education trainings in a professional kitchen setting alongside chefs and dietitians to explore local food and culinary skills, and how they connect to the latest in nutrition science and nutrition counseling. This training harnesses the potential of locally grown food to improve the well-being of patients, families, and communities.

National and regional faculty members will be present for networking.

In addition to the Culinary Medicine Training for health practitioners, the broader Farms, Food & Health Conference is open to all, and brings together health practitioners, employers, school teachers, principals, food service directors, poverty reduction advocates, human resource professionals, farmers, and others interested in connecting the dots between health, wellness, and locally grown food. Confirmation for Professional Standards Training Hours for School Nutrition Program Staff is pending.

See the complete agenda, keynote speaker bios, scholarship, and registration information at FarmsFoodHealth.org.
