The Child Nutrition Initiative (CNI) is inviting you to an event in Detroit (See attached flyer):
Now that Health Care Reform has passed the next big item on the Congressional agenda to address children’s health and welfare is the reauthorization of the Child Nutrition Act (CNA). The CNA's core child nutrition programs include the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), the School Breakfast Program (SBP), and WIC, among others. The Child Nutrition Initiative, is an advocacy campaign targeting states of key senators and representatives. The main request is to seek an increased level of funding for such things as school lunch (current reimbursement does not adequately cover the cost of good food) and other nutrition programs. You can find more information at the website. http://schoolmealsmatter.org/
