Please see information below and attached from the USDA regarding requests for proposals to supply produce for the Fresh Produce Pilot program, which is set to begin in Michigan and Florida in January 2012. Produce items for the pilot program include apples, lettuce, blueberries, carrots, grapes and oranges.

Interested farmers and vendors, please note that details about this program will be shared by represenatives from the USDA in a Farm to Institution session from 2-4 pm on Wednesday, December 7th at the Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable and Farm Market Expo in Grand Rapids.
