Celebrate Farm to School Month in October The continuing pandemic can make it feel hard to celebrate. But Farm to School Month can also be a time for connecting through food. Schools, early care and education (ECE) sites, farms, communities, and organizations across the state - and across the country - are celebrating local food during the month of October. Learn more about National Farm to School Month Additional Resources Whether you source and serve Michigan-grown foods, cultivate school gardens, or provide food education, take the time to celebrate and connect through your efforts, however big or small.  Here are several ways to acknowledge Farm to School Month in Michigan: Register for the Michigan Apple Crunch. Use Cultivate Michigan Featured Foods materials to find and promote local, seasonal foods at your institution, including for fall: tomatoes, winter squash, potatoes, salad greens, celery, and broccoli.  Learn more about 10 Cents a Meal, the state-funded local food incentive program. Explore the many Michigan Farm to School and Michigan Farm to ECE resources available to support programs in action. Use the free resources from the National Farm to School Network.  Register to become a National Farm to School Network Partner. This new partnership structure is open to any organization that aligns with NFSN’s core values and shares their commitment to shifting power and achieving a racially just food system.  About Michigan Farm to School Farm to School centers around efforts to serve local foods in school and early care and education settings.
