Growing Hope Announces 11th Annual Chefs in the Garden Lineup

Ypsilanti, Michigan - Growing Hope is excited to announce the return of their annual dinner series fundraiser, Chefs in the Garden, to take place on September 24 and October 08, 2023.  Chefs in the Garden is a multi-course dinner series fundraiser that supports Growing Hope's pursuit of a more just food system through the Ypsilanti Farmers Markets, the Growing Hope Incubator Kitchen, and the Growing Hope Urban Farm. The event will be held at the Growing Hope Urban Farm at 922 W. Michigan Ave, Ypsilanti, MI, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on both dates.

Each evening is its own unique experience, featuring produce grown on our farm and crafted from beginning to end by our guest chefs' talents and tastes. The evenings begin with a strolling appetizer and cocktail hour accompanied by live music, followed by a meal served in Growing Hope's hoop house and an open-air tent on the farm, and ends with a dazzling dessert.

Tickets are $200, and sponsorship opportunities are available at several levels. This event attracts many philanthropic, community-minded food lovers.

The September 24 meal is to be prepared by Chef Ji Hye Kim, owner of Miss Kim, with support from students from the esteemed Ypsilanti Community Schools Culinary Arts and Bakery Science. The October 08 dinner will feature a collaboration between Chef George Azar; owner of Flowers of Vietnam, and Chef Leo Chen; owner of Meogjia. These chefs will create memorable and delicious meals featuring local produce for each evening.

Attendees experience a fantastic evening of delectable culinary artisanship while participating in the development of a more sustainable and equitable local food system.
