Lake Michigan School Food System Innovation Hub Spark Awards
The Lake Michigan School Food System Innovation Hub funds community-driven collaborations that reimagine school meals. The initiative, supported by the USDA Healthy Meals Incentives Initiative and convened by the Illinois Public Health Institute (IPHI), intends to offer grants this year from $30K to $100K to collectives of farmers, food producers, school food authorities, industry partners, and other people working to reimagine school meals in Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana.
As of 1/31/25, the 2025 Spark Award application opening has been paused. We will provide updates as soon as possible. Additional grant cycles will continue through 2028.
In the meantime, explore resources to apply: - Support for Applicants webpage for more information on the grant application.
- Application Toolkit, featuring an applicant directory, 2024 roundtable materials, and open office hours information.
- Interest Form, connect with resources, office hours and/ or the State Lead Team at the MSU Center for Regional Food Systems.
Please do not reach out to the State Leads directly—all inquiries will be answered through the form. |
