Greetings Alita, I hope all is well with you. My name is Romondo Woods II, I'm a Urban Farmer, Michigan Farmers Union Board Member, Educator, School Garden Developer and I own and operate an Urban Youth Agriculture LLC with a small team. I wanted to reach out and submit my proposal for this awesome opportunity for us to develop and deliver some interactive programming to the mentioned school service directors, their staff and other program participants. I feel as though our organization's mission and values align perfectly with the training goals listed in the request for proposals. Attached is my website, my organization's scope of practice 2 brief outline options and our budget for this project proposal.
UYA's current network of educational facilities allows us to reach several school gardens, a student base that encompasses over 200 early childhood scholars every month and hundreds of middle school and high school students weekly between the DPSCD and Cornerstone Schools. In addition to ongoing afterschool programming with Cornerstone Schools and student enrichment services with DPSCD, we currently provide weekly farm to table snacks and various agriculture related programming for several of our early childhood centers in the Metro Detroit area including Detroit, Oak Park, Farmington Hills and Roseville. I'm currently certified as a grower trainer by the produce safety alliance and have plans to continue to support local growers connect with schools and support schools/school districts who are intentional and interested in developing and sustaining their own growing or farm to school operations We would love the opportunity to support these food service directors increase their capacity, network, access to resources/infrastructure that fits their schools' specific plan's and budget's.
