New funding opportunity

Hi Michigan Farm to School and Early Care Folks:

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation and Blue Cross Complete of Michigan are coming together to support Michigan communities through the Nourishing Communities: Nutrition Access, Education and Impact grant. This funding opportunity is designed for Michigan-based nonprofits working to expand access to nutritious food, strengthen nutrition knowledge and build sustainable solutions that help make the healthy choice the easy choice for families and communities. Applications are due Friday, August 14, 2026.

 

Through this funding opportunity, grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded for initiatives implemented over a 12-month period. A total of $375,000 is available to support eligible initiatives. Direct purchases of food or beverages are not allowed under this opportunity.

Michigan State University occupies the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary Lands of the Anishinaabeg–Three Fires Confederacy of Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi peoples. The University resides on Land ceded in the 1819 Treaty of Saginaw. Read here by land acknowledgements are not enough.
