Re: Apple press

Good Morning!

So great to hear from you, Lloyd! Our friends Kelsi from Soil and Soul Farm is staying at my house for a few days as I send this! Copper Harbor LOVE!

The apples here are also so abundant this year-- there have sure been some delicious forest walks lately. I, unfortunately, don't have a good recommendation right now, but I bet if you send a quick email to the Michigan Farm to School Listserv (mifarmtoschool@list.msu.edu ) you could crowd source some great suggestions!

Good luck, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you too! :)

Thanks, Abbey!  I don't think their budget is that large, but stainless is a good suggestion.  Fingers crossed they can find the right fit.

I'm asking Gabe Trader, who I think purchased one, which one she got and if she likes it. I think a main consideration is to get stainless when possible for cleaning. But it adds to expense big time -- a Lehman's stainless press is $1500.

I’m working with a HS group that is interested in purchasing an apple press
(Hand crank with masher).  Can either of you recommend a reliable one?  There are so many on the market that it is hard to know where to start.

Thanks!  There are LOADS of apples on the trees this year!!
