Grow Eastern Market (GEM) is a new for profit produce brokerage that aims to fill the gaps between institutional and foodservice buyers and small to midsize farms in the state of Michigan. By forming relationships with both buyers and farmers, GEM aims to help Michigan institutions meet their Michigan Good Food Charter goals of procuring 20% of their food service budget by 2020, while simultaneously connecting more growers to these new market opportunities.
