Hi all -
Apologies for the multiple emails this week, but two important and time sensitive notes I wanted to share:
**I was just informed that applications for the Farm to School Manager at Muskegon Public Schools (attached here again) will be accepted until December 24, so there's still time!
**Also, quick plug for the Farms, Food & Health Conference on January 29 in Traverse City. Some of you may have seen this a few weeks ago, but included below is information regarding some unique opportunities for farm to school practitioners. The conference will offer valuable sessions for food service directors and educators interested in initiating, building, or expanding Farm to School programs.
There will be an opportunity for institutional food service directors to learn best steps and tips on buying, menuing, and marketing locally grown food for their cafeteria meals, as well as opportunities for educators to learn how to integrate farm to school and school garden lessons into classrooms while meeting teaching requirements. If you're interested in submitting a poster, the deadline for signing up is Dec 23. The full press release for the conference is attached as well.
