We are seeking a self-motivated, resourceful, and committed early-career candidate to bring creative vision to an existing, strong foundation of relationships, programs, and learnings to support and shape farm to institution programs in Michigan.
Our farm to institution work is highly collaborative. This position will work closely with the CRFS senior farm to institution specialist to collaborate with partners from state agencies, MSU Extension, community-based organizations, institutions, potential funding agencies, and national partners.
The person in this role will support outreach, research, and project coordination for ongoing farm to institution projects, including:
- Michigan Farm to Institution Network,
- Michigan Farm to School,
- Cultivate Michigan,
- 10 Cents a Meal, and
- An Anchor Innovations project to support Michigan hospitals and healthcare systems implement local food procurement.
This ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in community food systems, public health, nutrition, community development, food policy, or a related field and at least two years of work experience in a professional or academic setting.
