Updated tip sheet for 10 Cents application. Deadline 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13

The clock is ticking! 


  • Schools in 43 Michigan counties are eligible to apply for the 10 Cents A Meal grant, but not for long! Apps close at 9 a.m. this coming Monday, August 13th.
  • UPDATED:tip sheet designed to clearly guide schools and their allies through the application process has been updated. Click here
  • (If for any reason the tip sheet link doesn't work, then just go to the Tools for Schools tab at tencentsmichigan.org, and click on the 10 Cents Grant Application link.

Note: 10 Cents a Meal for School Kids & Farms is a state pilot program that provides schools with up to 10 cents per meal in match funding to purchase and serve Michigan-grown fruits, vegetables, and legumes. 10 Cents funding is available to schools located in five of Michigan's 10 Prosperity RegionsHere are the counties for each of the eligible prosperity regions:

Region 2: Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, Wexford
Region 4: Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola, Ottawa 
Region 6: Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair, Tuscola
Region 8: Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, Van Buren
Region 9: Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, Washtenaw
