Hi all,
Please mark your calendars for January 21st, 2026, for a workshop for local farmers and food processors to learn strategies for selling products to school districts at the Bringing the Farm to School: Local Producer Training at the West Central Michigan AgBioResearch station in Hart. The workshop will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM with lunch provided. See attached flyer. Please register here.
Learn best practices and challenges from the first year of the Partnership for Local Agriculture and Nutrition Transformation in Schools (PLANTS) and about the experiences of working with local schools and over 20 west Michigan farmers through the Food Hub at FARM in Muskegon.
Producers that attend this training will:
- Learn about accessing school markets and growing products for schools.
- Hear from producers that have successfully navigated school markets.
- Gain new knowledge and resources for integrating school markets into your business plan.
- Meet local peers and experts, and have questions answered.
Lunch is provided.
Please share this opportunity widely and forward to anyone you know who may be interested in participating.
The development of this training was funded at least in part with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service through an agreement with the National Center for Appropriate Technology and partners with the National Farm to School Network.
Thanks,
